There is absolutely no guarantee in the online dating game, except for perhaps one and that is, the chances that you will get it right first time are almost certainly zero!
So, in order to avoid masses of senseless disappointments, you should really adopt a constructive but slightly defensive attitude right from the off!
Do it this way.... Yes, we know and you know that is online dating, but try not to think of boyfriends and girlfriends, husbands, wives, lovers and so on. Just think of the whole thing as an unusual way of meeting interesting new friends, some of whom you may grow close to and others of whom you will almost certainly not.
Do this, apply this attitude and you will remove a whole heap of unnecessary pressure and potential stress from your life, stuff that you just do not need to deal with. You are using the web to find new friends first and foremost and, after that, well, who knows?
