No Second Chance At A First Impression!
In real life, pretty much everyone is probably familiar with the concept of doing everything that you can to create a good first impression.
Applying the same concept to meeting someone online might at first seem a little strange, but nevertheless, the same rules still apply.
In fact, it probably applies even more online than it does in real life.
You meet someone in real life, you see the person as they really are, warts and all!
Online, your prospective partner will see you the way that you see yourself, that is, the way that you want them to see you. They cannot see you in person. You can't explain something to them that is unclear or slightly worrying that they have read in your profile unless they ask you, and most folks will simply not do that.
You can't charm them off their feet by flashing your most electric smile, not physically anyway.
What's more, they might have half a dozen profiles in front of them that they are potentially interested in, and, unless you hit the target straight away, a minute later, they can have moved on to the next profile in the pile!
Basically, and as silly as it might sound, you do have to try to flash your most electric smile, but in a digital fashion if you are to make that all-important first impression a winner. Here's a few ways of going about doing just that:
